Why MVC

The Mountain Valley Conference, established over 30 years ago, serves over 5,000 boys and girls from 5 to 15 years old in the Central Jersey Area in the counties of Somerset, Hunterdon, Union, Middlesex, Warren and Morris.

Our local associations are the
Bridgewater-Raritan Panthers, Del Val Dawgs, Flemington Falcons, Hillsborough Dukes, Hunterdon Huskies, , Maplewood South Orange Packers, Montgomery Wildcats, Phillipsburg Colts, Somerville Rams, South Plainfield Eagles, Washington Rock Raiders and Watchung Hills Wolverines.

With a rich history of success both on and off the field our children learn the skills to play football and cheerlead in a safe, positive environment while learning the values of academics and good sportsmanship.  They experience lots of camaraderie and have fun.

Many of our boys and girls have earned National and Regional Recognition as All-American Scholars.

Mountain Valley
teams have earned special achievements and have had many of our teams compete and place as finalists in the Pop Warner Super Bowl at Disney in Flordia

In the past two years we are proud to have
FOUR  NATIONAL  CHAMPIONSHIP  TEAMS  in football and cheerleading.

The safety of all of our participants
is the utmost concern at Pop Warner.  Any adults involved with or near the children, such as board members, coaches, and any volunteers, must complete a volunteer application every year and are annually background checked in all Pop Warner leagues as a National requirement.  Anyone on the field, coaches or volunteers, are safety trained with either the RUTGERS S.A.F.E.T.Y. clinics or N.Y.S.C.A. courses.  Every team is required to have a first aid and cpr trained volunteer.   The Head Commissioners and Head Cheer Commissioners in every town with every Football Head Coach and Cheerleading Head Coah are required to complete additional certification in football or cheer clinics and courses.

We use time tested National training and a rule book from Pop Warner National.  There are strict mandatory equipment requirements to physically protect your children.  In fact, there are fewer serious injuries in football than other sports.  Read about it on our Safety page.

Unlike other leagues that have try outs or cut players for their jr. varsity and varsity teams Pop Warner has a NO CUT policy at all levels.  All children can play.  Again, unlike other leagues we have a minimum play policy that guarantees your child will play and not just practice all week to sit on the bench on game day.

We value the trust you have placed with us in allowing us to teach your children the skills of the sport and values of academics, good sportsmanship, responsibility and teamwork as life-long lessons.  This along with their effort, hard work and dedication will help them as they become young adults on and off the field.

The Mountain Valley Confererence
is a member of The Eastern Region of Pop Warner and Pop Warner National.  We are comprised of a Board of Directors and a Head Commissioner of each member town.  The Board Officers are voted in by the member towns, the Head Football Commissioner and Cheer Commissioner are appointed by the President.  Head Commissioners of individual member towns are either elected or appointed in accordance with their own by-laws.
We are a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt not for profit organization as a member of Pop Warner National.

We are always interested in inviting new towns to join Mountain Valley Conference.  Anyone in the counties of Somerset, Hunterdon, Union, Middlesex, Warren and Morris that is interested in more information and to see if their town(s) are located in the Mountain Valley franchise can contact us through the form on our Contact Us page or can click here.  Whether you are an existing non pop warner organization or interested in forming a new pop warner town league we're here to help.  Be sure to check out the Why Pop Warner page to see the benefits of playing football or cheerleading the Pop Warner way.
